new project! The Capital-Labour/Capital-Life Reading Group!

November 9, 2012 § Leave a comment

This autumn/winter 2012-13, About a Bicycle will commence a 10-week reading series on economics, with a focus on how Capitalism functions (or doesn’t) now. We’ll start off the group with Christian Marazzi’s The Violence of Financial Capitalism, a necessary blueprint for interpreting the 2008 financial crisis as a fluctuating, yet stable vortex of capital accumulation. We’ll also be reading from Marx’s Capital, Silvia Frederici’s Caliban and the Witch, and F.A Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom: A Classic warning against the dangers to freedom inherent in social planning … just to name a few.

Check out the schedule for updates!
