How many Revolution(ary text)s per month?

October 23, 2011 § Leave a comment

The first readings for the group will be on the theme “Revolution”.  This theme can be liberally interpreted, meaning that unorthodox and generic takes on the theme are both welcome.  The RPM (Revolutionary texts per month) is decided by the participants.  Let’s keep the texts somewhat short so that we have time to read them.

Please post the texts along with some enticing commentary upon the discovery of interesting material in the “comments”.

I suggest we read the introduction to Art and Revolution by Gerarld Raunig, which can be found here http://semiotexte.com/?p=127 and Part One (and introduction if you want the background information) of Paul Virilio’s Speed and Politics, which can be downloaded here http://www.mediafire.com/?5z4c9pnjbzw.

I would also like to read the second section of Art and Revolution, which I can’t find online, but will scan.

Also, Mia suggested Pedaling Revolution: How Cyclists Are Changing American Cities, which I can’t find online.

The next meeting is this Friday Nov 4th at 8pm. Robyn has volunteered to host. (Thanks Robyn!) She lives at 2770 w 3rd ave.

Where Am I?
